Hudson Builders & Remodelers partnered with this building owner to transform what was originally renovated for use as the Erdman Law Office. The space was repositioned for lease, prompting a thoughtful redesign to accommodate a retail tenant, Wild Urban Co.
Working alongside Kroll & Associates Architecture, the project followed a collaborative design-build approach, with the owner serving as the interior designer. Together, the team reimagined the existing space into a customer-focused retail space while navigating a full change in occupancy and required approvals.
The renovation included a complete interior demolition and rebuild, introducing an open showroom floor, fitting areas, storage, and an accessible restroom. A key priority throughout the project was preserving the building’s original character while aligning with the boutique’s brand aesthetic. Original maple flooring was uncovered and restored, and an exposed brick wall was retained as a focal point, bringing warmth and authenticity to the space.
These historic elements were paired with modern updates and industrial-inspired features, including exposed ductwork and painted rafters, creating a cohesive and elevated experience. Completed in under nine months from initial planning through construction, the project reflects a seamless transition from professional office to a unique, character-driven retail destination.
