The Cedar Gable Barn is a custom residential post frame building, measuring 32 by 60 feet, including 14 foot sidewalls, and 18 by 14 foot overhead door. This pole shed was designed to complement the existing home while maximizing functionality on a constrained site in New Richmond, Wisconsin. From the outset, the goal was to create a highly functional storage and garage space that felt like a natural extension of the property.
Tight setback requirements presented a unique challenge, requiring close coordination with the homeowner, neighbors, and township to secure a variance and achieve the desired building footprint. Through proactive communication and thoughtful planning, Hudson Builders & Remodelers successfully navigated these constraints, delivering a structure that aligns seamlessly with the home’s orientation and overall aesthetic.
Architecturally, the building was designed with intentional details that elevate its presence, including a cedar gable truss and a carefully selected color palette that mirrors the primary residence. Inside, the structure balances immediate usability with future flexibility, incorporating features that allow for potential interior finish and expanded use over time.
